Our surf instructors arent only certified, they are patient, kind and extremely personable!

This camp is a learn-to-surf experience. Prior surfing is not required but the camper should be a confident swimmer. Campers will be swim tested to assess their water abilities and help us to customize their surf lessons specifically to their individual abilities. Campers use soft long boards that range in length from 7-12 feet long, depending on their weight. The more they weigh, the longer their assigned surfboard will be. These soft boards provide for great learning and experiential conditions, with minimal chance of getting hurt by the board. Our in water camper to instructor ratio is 1:3, but our camper to staff ratio is 1:10.

Each surf camp session is one week of high energy, fun-filled, get-your-toes-wet in the tropical waters of the Pacific Ocean while learning how to surf, making new friends, swimming up close to Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles, visiting highlights of the island like the famous Polynesian Cultural Center–authentic Dinner Luau and Night Show–as well as hiking the rim of Diamond Head Crater, touringWaikiki and snorkeling some of the top rated snorkel spots in the world! Youll also have the chance to swim in world-famous Sunset Beach, Pipeline and maybe even get a chance to jump off the famous Waimea Bay Rock.

Activities at camp include plenty of surfing at Chun’s, Ali`i’s, Malaekahana on the North Shore and White Plains on the West Shore, as well, snorkeling several famous coral reefs, sea kayaking, beach combing, sand crabbing, crazy camp games, campfires, star gazing, fun teen excursions, touring Waikiki and shopping in Haleiwa Town, North Shore.

We also have some new things we are adding to our activity schedules this year including surf hopping between 4 major surf sites on Oahu including Chun’s Reef, Alii Beach, Malaekahana and White Plains! When we are not surfing, we’ve included excursions that immerse you in the Hawaiian surf culture including lerning about surfing, the “Sport of Kings” with a visit to theHawaii Maritime Center, Iolani Palace, and the King Kamehameha Statue, as well as movies on the beach in Waikiki, Hawaiian Waters Adventure Water Park, and the Waikiki Alii Kai Catamaran Sunset Dinner Cruise & Show! It will be an exciting and educational year for Surf Camp Hawaii and we hope you’ll be a part of it!

Arrival and Departure Information

Very Important
Because Hawaii is a popular tourist destination year round for all types of travelers, we highly suggest you book your campers flight as soon as possible! Last year some campers were forced to cancel when they discovered no more seats were available on Honolulu-bound flights.

If arriving by plane, you will be met at the baggage claim. Please schedule, or ask your travel agent to schedule, arrival and departure times between 9am and 5pm.

Please email us your teens flight details by June 1, 2007 to ensure proper scheduling and pick up at the airport. Include your teens full name, airline, flight number and arrival time. Your child will call you once theyve arrived safely.
